I believe the information on webpage [www.rhodesfamily.org] is incorrect. Several New England newspapers report the marriage of Capt. Ebenezer Rhoades, Jr. to Miss Sarah Hurd on 21 Jul 1806 in Boston. Therefore, Sarah's husband is rather unlikely to be Ebenezer Rhoades b. 1792.

Capt. Ebenezer Rhoades, Jr. apparently was editor of the Boston newspaper Independent Chronicle from the late 1790s, possibly until his death abt 7 Jul 1818 in Boston.

In addition, the information on webpapge [www.rhodesfamily.org] may also be incorrect. The marriage of Sarah H Rhoades to Rev. Albert Baldwin on 2 May 1849 is recorded in Brookline, Norfolk, MA. The death of their daughter, Susan Catherine Baldwin on 24 Aug 1853 is also recorded in Brookline.

I'd like to hear from anyone researching the Rhoades family in Massachusetts.

I am seeking any information that someone may have in their tree about a Laura Myrtle Rhodes or a Robert Rhodes. Robert could possibly be Laura's father.

Laura is my Great Grandmother and I have lost all track of the Rhodes family. I am trying to find any records of them ever living in or around Buffalo NY. Also, possibly lived near Niagara Falls, Canada as my father is from there.

I know that she married my Great Grandfather, Charles Thomas Barwell in Ontario, Canada on January 1, 1934 but I have no record on any census which is odd to me.

Hi I am looking for African-American decendants of the Rhodes family...I know by start that my grandfather's name was Willie Rhodes and he married Elnora, they have kids Rita, Melvin Rhodes--died in 1979, George Rhodes, Gary Rhodes is all I can name right off the top of my head but they are from East Texas, and if there is anyone who would like to help me link my family tree please email me at the current email account.

I am a direct decendent of Daniel Rhoads, who was 5th in decent from Henery rodes, the first settler of Lynn, Mass. Daniel was a Revolutionary Soldier of Sharon and Walpole, Mass and is presumably buried in our family cemetery, The Guild Family Cemetery, on the Sharon/Walpole line. I do have quite a bit of info on him and our kinfolk, so if anyone is interest, please feel free to drop a note, even if you just want to chat.

My husband is a Rhodes and I have been researching them too. My husband's grandparents were Loyd (yes Loyd with one L) Homer Rhodes and Georgia Lilliard Rhodes, then Christopher Columbus Rhodes and then Rance Rhodes. As far as we know, they lived in Arkansas and Missouri in the late 1800's and early part of the 1900's. After the depression years, they moved out west to California. We are probably related somehow. If you know anything more, let me know.
