I'm going to add to the numerous John and Mary searches. Here's my brick wall.
My information starts with John Rhoads (b. abt 1818 in PA d. 1859 in IN) and Mary (Weigle sp?) Rhoads (b. abt 1815 in PA, d. 1894 in IN) who migrated to Indiana from Pennsylvania. They had several children:
• Elizabeth b. 1837 in PA; m. Joseph Eloph
• Daniel John b 1840 in Stark County OH (his own recollection, may be incorrect); m. 1) Minerva Harper 2) Mary Meiser 3) Rosetta Johnson/Truman/Crum (I am a direct descendent of this line).
• Isreal b. 1842 in Ohio; m. Sarah Johnson
• Katherine b. 1845 in Ohio; m. B.B. Johnson
• Rebecca b. 1848 in Ohio; m. Silas Jackson
• Isaah b. 1852 in Indiana; m. Mary unk
• Mary A. b. 1854 in Indiana; m. Joseph Sterling
• Matilda b. 1857 in Indiana; m. John McKinley
I am currently working on obtaining additional information on the parents; John and Mary, from Pennsylvania, but am not having any luck, as you may know, those are very common Rhoads names in Pennsylvania and I don't even know what county to start in.

I am looking for information about my maternal grandfather and I have found very little. His name as I know it was Oliver David Rhodes. But I have found records on another site referring to a David Oliver Rhodes who was married to a Clara Paulson. As far as I know my grandmother spelled her last name with an E not an O but the person that made the post didn't include her middle name. It also stated that his parents were James H.(Henry)"jim" Rhodes and Emma Lula Allison. This might be my mother's family I am searching for so if you could send any information that might help it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
My name is Andrzej (Andrew) Rodys. I'm 43, I'm living in Warsaw, Poland, Europe. I'm looking form my ancestors and I'm completing the genealogy of polish family of Rodys. But... our family legend says, that our name Rodys came from Great Britain, and Rodys is polish transcription of the name Rhodes. My oldest ancestor I found is Jan (John) Rodys, born in Poland in the beggin of XIX century. Sooner I found only one big black hole. But the name Rodys is completely unusual in polish language, so I think our family legend it's true. Now in Poland are only few people of the name Rodys. From our family legend we know, that our family came from Great Britain in XVII or XVIII century.
Do You know something about somebody of the name Rhodes (or similar), who were emigrated from GB to Polish Kingdom or another country in the Middle-East Europe in XVII/XVIII century? I'll be very grateful for every help. I'm nearly sure, that We, the Poles of the name Rodys, We are another branch of the Rhodes Tree.
If you know something about I ask, please, email me: andrzejrodys@gmail.com.
Greetings from Poland for all Rhodes familys on all the World
Andrzej S. Rodys

I am the granddaughter of Martha Eunice Rodes Kennedy, born 1/24/1876 in Coal Run, WV. I believe she was the only one of the Charles Green Rodes family to stay in WV as everyone else moved to Florida. She married Duncan Cruikshank Kennedy. I am starting my research and am hitting the wall. Any help would be wonderful and appreciated.
