THE RHODES FAMILY
John Rhodes of Albemarle County, Virginia, of the 3rd generation in America, was born 2 June 1766, died 1 March 1841. His will was proved on that date. He married May 1793 in Albemarle County, Francisco, daughter of Bernard Brown.
John and Francisco had issue: 

SIDNEY, born 27 January 1794, died 23 July 1855, married 13 December 1811, Powhatan Jones, born 9 October 1792, died 13 September 1880; of "Bremen," Buckingham County;
RYLAND;  
JOHN D., married Mrs. Morris of Albemarle, and died without issue;
WILLIAM;
SARAH, married Samuel Woods of Nelson County, Virginia, and emigrated to Missouri;
TYREE;
VIRGINIA, married W. C. Smith of Nelson County, and died in 1854 or 1855;
JACINTHA, married 1st J. Smith of Nelson County, and 2nd James Harris of Nelson County;
FANNIE, married Garland Brown of Nelson County, and moved to Mississippi, where she died;
LUCY ANN, married 1st James A. Payne of Warrenton, Va., and 2nd Mr. Newlands of Ralls County, Missouri.

Tyree Rhodes, "brother of John, was born 24 December 1770, and died 17 July 1827.   He settled in Giles County, Tennessee.   His descendants have not been traced.
