Looking for ancestors of William Jefferson Rhodes (born 1882 in Pontiac, MO). Married Ollie May Turnbo (born 1886 in MO) Children Clarence M. Rhodes (born 1905 and a daughter born 1913. My grandmother, Myrtle is Clarence's sister and was born Nov 22, 1906 in AR. William's parents were James B. Rhodes or maybe spelled Rhoades/Rhoads. He was married to either Elizabeth or Amanda Sisney. James was born in 1832. His parents are unknown.

Seeking data on ARTHUR RHODES (Rhody, Rhoads, Rodes, Roades, Roads), unknown wife and children of Edgefield County, SC. The family was in Edgefield County in 1800 and 1810 might have come to the county before 1790. Sometime after 1810 and the start of the War of 1812 he moved to Addeville County, SC leaving the family in Edgefield County. In 1820 JESSE RHODES was the head of the housewhole.

Arthur was a member of the Stephen (Steven) Creek Baptist Church in Edgefield County. He was voted out at lease twice for drinking and beating the drum for slave dances. He was a drummer in Capt. Benjamin Hatter’s Company of Youngblood’s Regiment in the South Carolina Milita.
