Proclamation by Fremont Bovee, Mayor Corunna MI, December 1927
The city of Corunna is again called upon to mourn the death of one of her best known and respected citizens- Robert McBride- who passed to the Great Beyond at four o'clock Monday morning December 19, 1927.
For about forty years Mr. McBride has been a resident of our city, and for thirty years he held the office of Justice of the Peace, during which time he fulfilled the duties with honor and integrity. His death is keenly mourned by a wide circle of devoted friends.
I deem it fitting that as a mark of respect to his memory that stores and offices of our city remain closed during the hour of the last rites for the departed, on Thursday, December 22, from ten to eleven o'clock.
Nell describes her Uncle Rob as having blue eyes, and a very large man.
