Joe Rhodes of Flint town, died Monday morning of pneumonia. He was about 67 years of age. He leaves a wife, who was formerly Miss Mary Randolph and four sons, Earnest of Ripley, Tony, Heisel and Roscoe at home. He lived seven years on F. L. Mathews' farm. Burial at White Pine, his home cemetery, in Jackson County, by Funeral Director T. W. Dye of Reedy. (Roane Co Historical Society Obituary Book L-Z)
