He was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on May 23, 1928 to Dayton and Elizabeth Gilbreath.
He married Carolyn Jo Ann Kelley on March 18, 1950 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Preceeded in death by his parents; his brother, Walker Dayton Gilbreath, and his great grandson, Caden Yanish.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gilbreath, three children; Debbie Samples and husband Dennis, Stephen Gilbreath and wife Jenny, and Terri Palm and husband Jim; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He was employed by SW Bell for thirty-six years and retired in 1983. He was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America and member of First Christian Church in Edmond. He loved his family and spending time bowling and going to the casino. George is fishing in Heaven and will be greatly missed.

Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday June 18, 2012 at First Christian Church, Edmond.
