(Will Shade) !On 8 Aug 1884, Noah J. was living near King City, MO whi c h is in Gentry County but near the DeKalb and Andrew Coun ty lines. The King Cit y Chronicle ran an article regardin g N. J.'s receiving the news of his father' s death. The a rticle stated that James was 74 years old, making his D O B 1809/1810. (Newspaper Gleanings From Andrew County an d Surrounding Are a; Compiled by Dorothy McMackin; FHL 977. 8126/B38d; p. 151) !Parents Henry Gore and William Keaton gave permission f o r marriage 29 Jul 1828 (Giles County, VA), both may be un derage. Bond was dat ed 18 Aug 1828. (CANotes - Steno) !"James first appears as head of household in 1830 censu s f or Giles County, VA. In the 1840 census he appears in M arshall County, VA (now W V). It appears that about 1843/18 44 James and his family set out by flatboat o n the Ohio ri ver down to the Mississippi, then up the Missouri to King' s Landin g (now Kansas City). They did not stay there lon g and continued up river to Robe rtson's Landing (now St. J oseph), by land to Jefferson Township in Andrew County .
