He was born April 5, 1929, to Daniel and Vera (Rhodes) Foster in Grover, Colo. On July 9, 1947, he married Betty Schroeder in Wahpeton, N.D. Donald served in the United States Navy. He resided in Brownsdale for 50 years, belonged to the Brownsdale Business Association, was a member of the Brownsdale Fire Department and served as Fire Chief for 35 years. He was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He worked as an auto mechanic at Brownsdale Repair. He enjoyed his grandchildren, restoring old cars, fishing, flowers and gardening. Survivors include wife, Betty Foster, Brownsdale; son, Dennis (Bonnie) Foster, Rochester; daughters, Nancy (Jerome) Evans, Dexter; Connie (Wendel) Sprung, Rose Creek; nine grandchildren; brother, Marvin "Bud" (Ida) Foster, Brownsdale. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dale and Cecil; sister, Mabel; and son, Glenn. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at the funeral home and Thursday at the church for one hour before the service. Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Brownsdale with Rev. David Truenow officiating.
