- BURIAL: Funeral services for Walter Wade Rhodes, 83 of Eufaula will beheld at 2 P.M. Friday in the First Baptist Church with ReverendKenneth Shaw and Reverend Larry Adams officiating. Burial will be inGreenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kelly Funeral Home.
BURIAL: Pall bearers include Clarence Douglas, Maurice Pipkins Jr.,Bill McCarty, June Edwards, Jack Parker and Mel Stipes.
BURIAL: Born August 29, 1891 at Vowells Mill, Louisiana. Rhodes diedWedensday November 7, 1974. A veteran of World War 1, he was a memberof the First Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer.
BURIAL: Survivors include his wife, Lillian of the home, three sons,Wayne of Eufaula, Walter of Beaver, and Clyde of Clayton, New Mexico,six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Papa had bright blue eyes, a hell raiser as a young man, but sweet andgentle to all of his Grandchildren. In the late 1950s he made a tripto Vowells Mill, La. to place new headstones on the graves of hisMother Delia, and his 2 siblings, Mellie Annie and William Osker inHarmony Cemetery, Natchitoches Parish, La.
Papa served his country in W.W.1, and his youngest son, Homer Clydewould travel almost the same path in W.W.11.
