He served with Co. b: 1st Regiment Capital Guards. Padueah Battalion (USA). (If this man served in the War for Southern Independence, he was a very young soldier.)
His father was Robert Rhodes (b. ca. 1818 in Kentucky). We believe his mother was Eliza J. (Nicey) (Higgins) Rhodes (b. ca. 10 Jan 1821 in Kentucky, d: 11 Dec 1855). They were married in Trigg County. KY on 30 Sep 1840. We believe his mother is buried in the Salem Church Cemetery along with her son Robert W. Rhodes (b. ca. 1849 in Kentucky. d: 18 Jan 1853) There is no stone to Robert's grave.
His wife was Lurana or Lurane Rhodes (b. 1848 in Kentucky, d: 1880). She is buried in the Savells Cemetery.

Rhodes, age 2 years living with his father Robert Rhodes, age 32 years: his mother Eliza Jane (Higgins) Rhodes, age 27 yean: and four siblings: Thomas G.. age 7 years: Mary A., age 5 years: Jane D., age 3 years, and Robert W., age 5 months.
On page 103. Simmons' 1870 Trigg County Census #1191. he is listed as Henry Rhodes, age 23 years living with his wife Luranc Rhodes, age 21 years, and two children: Mary J., age 3. and George T., age I year.

Neel's Statistical Handbook of Trigg County. 1880 Trigg County Census. top of page, he is listed as a fanner, age 33 years, living with his wife Laurana, age 32 years, and five children: Mary F., age 12 years; GeorgeT., age 10 years: Alpha D., age 8 years: John R., age 6 years: and Evic A., age 1 year.
On page 89, Jones' 1900 Trigg County Census #224-224. lie is listed as a farmer, age 50 years living with his wile Cora Rhodes, age 24 years, and three daughters: Curva R., age 7 yean; Hollie, age 6 years; and Myrtle, age 2 years.
