Rev. J. T. Rhodes, one of the oldest ministers in the Albemarle Associati on, fell quietly on sleep July 14, 1895, in his 79th year. For about for ty years he was a true and faithful servant of God, working in a quiet wa y, sowing the seed of the gospel in a section where it was much neglecte d. His life work was confined principally to Campbell and Amherst countie s. He organized, built and dedicated, many years ago, Gethsemane Bapti st Church, which he faithfully served up to the time of his death.
