the eldest son,settled in Grahamstown,South Africa, about 1820 his wife miss porter,a sisterof mrs Blundell of Blundell,Spencer & co.of hull, seed crusher,and oil and colour merchants.
For some years he had great trials and terrible experiences with the natives,had his house and all that he burned and looted, more than once. his greatest loss was that of his son killed by a lion.
