Annie Rhodes became pregnant by a former slave when living as a young woman in Rye Cove, Scott County, Virginia. She carried the child to term, but the baby did not live long. There is no record of the child, nor of the father. The chid was buried near Annie's father, Haywood, in the Fugate Cemetery in Rye Cove. If there was a marker, it no longer exists.
