Born 21 May 1833 at Marcellus, N. Y. Student from Jordan, N. Y., at
Wesleyan University, 1853-4, at Genesee College, two years between 1854
and 1857. A.B.
Employed on French's Gazetteer and Maps of New York, 1857-8. Teacher of
Greek and Latin Academy, Jonesville, N. Y., 1859. Farmer, Congest and
Camillus, N. Y., 1859-66. In business, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1866-8;
Montour, Iowa, 1868-73. Farmer, Weyanwequa, Wis., 1873-86. Justice of
the Peace. Enlisted in U. S. -Vol. service ; rejected on examination.
Has published numerous articles in Agricultural and other papers.
Married 2 Oct. 1861, Esther Legg of Conquest, N. Y. Children—JESSIE
