Rabie RHODES, owner of Rabie Rhodes Chevrolet Company of Harrison [Arkansas], is one of Harrison's leading businessmen and a citizen of great worth to the community. He came to Harrison from Van Buren, Arkansas, in 1938. He became an automobile dealer in 1924 and has been conspicuous in the industry ever since, having previously engaged in the business in Van Buren. The Rhodes Chevrolet Company has branch establishments in Berryville and Marshall [Arkansas].

Born in Crawford County, February 27, 1901, Mr. Rhodes was educated in the common schools, spending his earlier years on a farm. His father was William Franklin (Bud) Rhodes, also a native of Crawford County, the latter having been a son of James Rhodes, an earlier settler in north Arkansas, whose relationship is traceable to the Rhodes clan, several of whom have lived in Carroll County in the community north of Green Forest ever since the Civil War. His [Rabie's] mother was, before marriage, Savilla (Sis) Dyer, a member of a well-known Crawford County family.

Mr. Rhodes was married to Sybal Campbell, of Van Buren, in 1933, and to them have been born two daughters - Mary Olive and Ann Marie.

Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes are members of the Methodist Church. He is a member of the Lions Club and active in the Chamber of Commerce and all civic affairs.
