Leslie G. Rhodes, M. D., the junior member of the firm of Games and
Rhodes, is a native of East Almond, N. Y., and was born in 1852. Ho was
raised on a farm, and attended the district school. In 1867 he moved
with his parents to Iowa. He took a course of instruction in the
Academy at Kossuth. Iowa, and afterward a college course at the Iowa
Wesleyan University at Mount Pleasant, graduating from that institution
in 1877. He was then for a time engaged in teaching school. His medical
training was accomplished in the medical department of the Iowa State
University, graduating in 1881.^ He entered upon the practice of
medicine and surgery at Alton, Kansas, where he remained ten years. In
1891 he moved to Lincoln, Nebr., and continued the practice of his
profession until coming to this city in 1896. Dr. Rhodes is a member of
the Kansas State Medical Society, the Missouri Valley Medical
Association, and the Michigan State Medical Society, and of the
Kalamazoo Academy of Medicine. In 1889 he was appointed U. S. Pension
Examiner, being made president of the Board. In 1885 he was appointed
local surgeon for the Missouri Pacific R. R. In Lincoln he served as
member of the medical staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital, and was also on
the surgical staff of Tabitha Hospital. On coming to South Haven he
formed a partnership with Dr. George d: C'arnes, and continues to give
his undivided attention to the study and practice of medicine and
surgery.
