Captured by the Indians when she was 9 years old, and 12 when they got her back. Her mother and baby sister were also captured at the time and the baby died. The mother was sold back to her husband in a short time. Sarah was kept for 3 years. They were captured by the Indians near Gallatin at Ziegler Fort.
