The featured photo is a daguerreotype portrait of (Anna) Miriam Bailey Easterly, dated August 1849. It comes to us from Norton Strange Townshend, Easterly Gallery which is part of the University of Michigan’s Clements Library’s website. This online gallery is limited to about a dozen images and to me it is like taking a glimpse in to our past.
