FIRST GENERATION

 

1.  William H. Rhodes was born in 1801 in Kentucky.  He died on 11 Aug 1891 in Alabama.

 

Elinor Capshaw (daughter of William Capshaw and Hannah Ester Watkins) was born in 1786 in Rutherford, North Carolina.  She died on 20 Nov 1867 in Mississippi.  William H. Rhodes and Elinor Capshaw had the following children:

 

           +2                      i.    David Sullivan Rhodes.

              3                    ii.    Carroll Rhodes was born in 1819.

              4                   iii.    Louisa Rhodes was born in 1822.

              5                   iv.    Vina Rhodes was born in 1830.

              6                     v.    Marion Jane Rhodes was born in 1832.

 

 

 

SECOND GENERATION

 

2.  David Sullivan Rhodes was born on 14 Feb 1826 in Alabama.  He died on 27 Sep 1907 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

 

  David Sullivan Rhodes and E. Bishop had the following children:

 

              7                      i.    Minnie Rush Rhodes was born on 7 Oct 1874 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

              8                    ii.    Oscar Newton Rhodes was born on 18 Jul 1876 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

 

He was married to Mary Elizabeth Beal on 16 Mar 1847.  Mary Elizabeth Beal was born on 5 Jan 1826 in Mississippi.  She died on 15 Oct 1873 in Mississippi.  David Sullivan Rhodes and Mary Elizabeth Beal had the following children:

 

           +9                      i.    John Wesley Rhodes.

         +10                    ii.    Elinor Ann Rhodes.

         +11                   iii.    Louisa J. Rhodes.

           12                   iv.    James Carroll Rhodes was born on 9 May 1852 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.  He died on 16 Feb 1869 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

           13                     v.    Vienna Rebecca Rhodes was born on 4 May 1854 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

         +14                   vi.    Harriette Clementine Rhodes.

           15                  vii.    David Watkins Rhodes was born on 6 May 1860 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.  He died on 13 Aug 1862 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

           16                 viii.    Mollie Ema Rhodes was born on 13 Oct 1862 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.  She died on 7 Dec 1862 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

           17                   ix.    Julia Washington Rhodes was born on 29 Nov 1863 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

           18                     x.    Willie Rice Rhodes was born on 22 Nov 1866 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

  

THIRD GENERATION

 

9.  John Wesley Rhodes was born on 7 Apr 1856 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.  He died on 19 Mar 1937 in Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.  He was buried on 21 Mar 1937 in Concord Cemetery, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

 

He was married to Sally "Saddie" Wheeler (daughter of Henry Jacob Wheeler and Martha Eldridge Pearson) in 1877 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.  Sally "Saddie" Wheeler was born on 19 Jul 1859 in Mississippi.  She died in 1881 in Mississippi.  John Wesley Rhodes and Sally "Saddie" Wheeler had the following children:

 

         +19                      i.    David Henry Rhodes.

           20                    ii.    Clifford Alvin Rhodes was born on 2 Apr 1878 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

 

He was married to Bettie Porter in 1900 in Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.  Bettie Porter was born on 27 Dec 1874.  John Wesley Rhodes and Bettie Porter had the following children:

 

           21                      i.    Cecil Rhodes was born on 2 Sep 1901 in Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

           22                    ii.    Annie Ray Rhodes was born on 8 Jan 1903 in Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

           23                   iii.    Roy Rhodes was born in 1905 in Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

           24                   iv.    Erma Rhodes was born in 1907 in Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

 

Alice Andre Calvin was born on 29 Oct 1863.  John Wesley Rhodes and Alice Andre Calvin had the following children:

 

           25                      i.    Maida Luden Rhodes was born on 7 Dec 1884 in Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

 

10.  Elinor Ann Rhodes was born on 25 Apr 1848 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

 

She was married to J. L. Aston on 20 May 1869.  Elinor Ann Rhodes and J. L. Aston had the following children:

 

           26                      i.    David Holmes Aston was born on 12 Aug 1870.

 

11.  Louisa J. Rhodes was born on 29 Jun 1850 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

 

 

 

14.  Harriette Clementine Rhodes was born on 7 Aug 1859 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

 

She was married to W. B. Seay on 2 Jun 1875.  Harriette Clementine Rhodes and W. B. Seay had the following children:

 

           27                      i.    William Ira Seay was born on 23 Mar 1876.

           28                    ii.    Algin Preston Seay was born on 24 Nov 1877.

           29                   iii.    David Madison Seay was born on 8 Oct 1879.  He died on 3 Sep 1881.

 

 

 

FOURTH GENERATION

 

19.  David Henry Rhodes was born on 16 Sep 1880 in Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.  He died on 1 Jan 1940 in Bowie, Texas.  He was buried Brushy Cemetery in Bowie, Texas.

 

Ethel Flossie Wakefield (daughter of John Henry Wakefield and Elizabeth Rachelle Hood) died on 27 Oct 1970 in Bowie, Texas.  She was buried Brushy Cemetery in Bowie, Texas.  David Henry Rhodes and Ethel Flossie Wakefield had the following children:

 

         +30                      i.    Jesse Lorene Rhodes.

         +31                    ii.    Lillian Rhodes.
