- Born 1757 in Prince George's County, MD. The Christian name also was spelled Garrett, Jarrett, Jarot, Jarrott, etc. Resided in Prince George's County until 28 June 1817, at which time he deeded a slave to his daughter "Rebecca Darcey, wife of Francis Darcey, for love and affection I bear her, as I am now on my way to Tennessee."
The 1790 Census of Prince George's County, MD, lists him with a family of one male over 16 years of age, one male under 16, four females and five slaves. Removed to Sumner County, TN in 1817. The 1820 Census of Sumner County, TN, lists Jarrott Darnol, with one son, 18 to 26 years and a wife over 45. His will, written 30 September 1822, was probated at the May term of Court, 1826. The will mentions only the son John S. as executor, and a son William; a grandson Francis, and Sally Hardy, who was to have "a decent maintenance." The daughters probably all remained in Maryland, as none was named.
