Robert E. Rhodes, born February 1, 1840, at Pittsburgh, and educated at an academy in Indiana county, Penn. He has served as American consul at Jerusalem, also in Germany and France, and at present resides at Paris. He is the author of books descriptive of life abroad, and a writer for American and foreign publications.
