Welcome to the RhodesFamily.org Genealogy Blog. I am Carl Rhodes the webmaster and proprietor of RhodesFamily.org the website for Rhoades, Rhoads, Rhodes, Rhodus, Roads, de Rodes, Rodes etc. family genealogy. This blog was started primarily to keep Rhodes/Roads etc. genealogy researchers up to date with the goings on of RhodesFamily.org. I this mainly consists of information about new links and databases on RhodesFamily.org. Although occasionally I will post a piece noteworthy in history, sometimes I will put an article up for fun, or just something that catches my interest.

Carl, the proprietor of RhodesFamily.org

Hi, I was born and raised in northern Indiana and have spent much of my life here. I have been interested in genealogy for over twenty years and I am still learning and feel I have a lot to learn. I am a member of the Society of the Descendants of Washington Army at Valley Forge, also a member and a past chapter president the Son of the American Revolution. When at home you will usually find me in front of the computer looking for dead relations and communicating with the living ones. Carl Rhodes

ProGenealogists Website

The ProGenealogists website is a link-o-rama of genealogy sites. When I first visited ProGenealogists.com, I found links to many pages I had never seen before, and many that were already my favorites.

Here is their site description:

"A professional genealogist with experience, knowledge and access to billions of records is ready to assist you in United States, Canadian and European research! We conduct family history and genealogy research in archives across the world, including the famous Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our specialists are well-versed in the record collections of archives across the world. We know which records are readily available and which will best meet your research goals. ProGenealogists specializes in researching and documenting family histories; including all aspects of United States research, immigration, European, Canadian, lineage societies, colonial research, and Medieval British research. We can also help with detailed and thorough genealogy record searches, too. "

This company performs genealogy research for clients, here is a link to their services: http://www.progenealogists.com/services.htm.

The great part of this site is that all the links to databases are together on the one sites:

United States Genealogy Sleuth, research by state, record type, and all that. Go to:

International Genealogy Sleuth, go to:

Specialty Sites for Genealogy Research includes: Belgium, Danish, German, Great Britain, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Slovakian, Swedish, Swiss and West Indies. Go to:

Religious and Ethnic Groups, go to: http://www.progenealogists.com/religious_ethnic.htm

More Sources and Resources, go to: http://www.progenealogists.com/resources.htm.

Many of the links to specialized databases connect to commercial web sites like Ancestry.com, and they charge for the use of their databases, indicate them by using a $ sign. Resources that ProGenealogists will research from microfilms at the LDS Family History Library are indicated by a red X.

You will find this site is a must to bookmark and add to your favorites for anyone doing genealogy. With it’s excellent resources, you may find yourself spending hours using their many useful links.
